NoelOrDie was a fansite I created on Tumblr and Instagram for the British musician and songwriter Noel Gallagher. It started as a fun personal project and then organically blew up from 2014-2016.
Tumblr
I created a custom theme using HTML and CSS on Tumblr for my NoelOrDie blog. Throughout 2014-2016, I updated the blog on a daily basis with photos, videos, music, interviews, and news about Noel Gallagher. I managed to amass over 5,000 followers on Tumblr over the course of those two years, completely organically. I also put together some fan projects, including collecting letters from other fans around the world and putting them together into a scrapbook that I then was able to give to Noel before his concert in Chicago in 2015!
Since the Tumblr blog was such a hit, I expanded and created a NoelOrDie Instagram profile to share updates and photos as well. I was able to collect 2,500 followers by the end of 2016, again completely organically.
The sad news…
Unfortunately Tumblr removed my blog in late 2016 after some old posts on a blog I hadn’t used since 2012 got all of my blogs taken down for copyright infringement. Learned my lesson there! NoelOrDie vanished from the web and unfortunately these two screenshots are the only remnants from that period of time.
